Earlier GarageBand versions are situated in sub-folders (with the version name), found in the folder of Applications. An example is if you have GarageBand 6.0.5, it will be placed in the same name folder. If you need to reinstall a GarageBand folder, it will be available in the Purchases tab of the Mac App Store. I bought a new Mac, and want to transfer the app to it. (By my reading of the license, this is perfectly legal, as long as I don't continue to use it on the old computer.) I copied GarageBand.app over, and then it complained about missing 'Application Support' and 'Apple Loops Index'.
- Again, if you have a newer Mac OS device it may already have GarageBand installed right there for you to start using. Otherwise head to the Mac’s App Store to get it downloaded.
